Twenty-one students under the Faculty of Communications and Media Arts (FCMA) of Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC) will compete for this year’s most creative advertising idea in the 2017 Student Advertising Awards. The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron will grace the award ceremony on February 18, 2017, 5PM at Srey Dim Conference Hall, PUC South Campus.
The event is a creative competition that aims to recognize and reward creativity of FCMA students in the field of advertising, business and visual communication. By honoring the competitive talents of students is part of FCMA’s mission in developing the skills of students to become global graduates in response to industry demands and in strengthening Cambodia’s advertising industry.
Competing groups of students originally designed advertisements for their chosen product based on the needs of its target customers. The groups will compete for the categories in Print, TV, Outdoor, Mobile, Online Ad and the Campaign of the Year Award. These students have undergone rigorous brainstorming sessions, studying their market and creatively developing advertisement. Entries will be judged by Creative Directors from chosen advertising agencies based in Cambodia.
This year, the competition introduces new categories: Cyber and Mobile Advertising. “With the onset of digital technology, the rise of the Cambodian middle class, more and more companies in Cambodia are now realizing the potential of both Cyber and Mobile advertising; so the inclusion of these new media is very timely,” Lorena Banares, Assistant Dean & Professor of FCMA said. She also added that these new media will soon dominate the marketing landscape owing to the changes in lifestyle and preferences of these consumers.
The event is exclusively sponsored by FCB Cambodia and Wing Cambodia.
